Commitment to Sustainable Packaging

At Superoch, we prioritise sustainability in every aspect of our packaging, particularly with our flat postal packs, which are used for the majority of our stock products. These postal packs are not only efficient in design but also offer multiple environmental and logistical benefits, supporting both our eco-friendly goals and the satisfaction of our customers.

Letterbox-Friendly and Efficient

One key sustainability feature of our flat postal packs is their compact design. They are letterbox-friendly, which means they can be sent as a large letter in single quantities. This streamlined size reduces the overall environmental footprint of our shipping process by minimising excess packaging material and reducing the space needed during transit. Smaller, lighter packages lower fuel consumption and carbon emissions from deliveries, supporting more sustainable mail-order operations.

Recyclable Components

Our packaging goes beyond convenience by ensuring that the materials we use are recyclable.

  • Bottles: Our bottles are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE, plastic code 2), a widely recyclable and one of the safest plastics available. Commonly used in food packaging like yogurt containers, HDPE is durable, making it ideal for reusable and recyclable packaging. Most UK councils support its recycling, allowing customers to easily contribute to a circular economy.

  • Lids: The clip-on lids are made from polypropylene (PP, plastic code 5), another highly sustainable and safe plastic often used in food packaging. PP is durable, recyclable with most UK councils, and helps minimise waste by extending the lifecycle of the material.

Induction Heat-Sealed for Security

The bottles are securely sealed using an induction heat seal with a foil across the opening. This method ensures the product’s safety and freshness while minimising the need for additional outer packaging, thus reducing material usage. Importantly, the materials used in the heat-sealing process do not compromise the recyclability of the bottles or lids, keeping our sustainability goals intact.

Commitment to a Circular Economy

At Superoch, we believe that sustainability isn’t just about what goes into making our products, but also how those products are disposed of after use. By using recyclable HDPE and PP, we contribute to the reduction of plastic waste and support the principles of a circular economy, where materials are reused and repurposed instead of being discarded. We encourage our customers to recycle their packaging responsibly, and we’re committed to increasing the use of more sustainable materials as technologies and practices evolve.
